Chosen Solution

For some years now my PS4 has been sounding like a fighter jet when ever I play on it. So I finally decided to open it up and clean it. So I opened it up, cleaned everything, replaced the fan and thermal paste. Now everything turns on but whenever I try to play a game my PS4 starts to overheat and the fan starts speeding up a lot. Any solutions on a fix or where I went wrong??

Are all the thermal pads still present for the VRAM chips on both sides of the board? If one is missing or not aligned properly it can cause that problem. Also too little or bad quality thermal paste can cause that too. Also make sure clamp for the heatsink is on the right side as well.

Same thing is happening to me. I just replaced my fan and put my ps4 back together and its overheating. It hasn’t overheated amd turned off yet but im afraid its gonna happen. I replaced the thermal paste and cleaned the dust out along with replacing the fan. Very irritating honestly. I already spent around 50 bucks cleaning it and replacing the fan.

Maybe check to make sure you installed the fan correctly so it is blowing hot air out of the unit. Just a thought…I am not familiar with the layout of those devices.
