My ps4 controller blinks purple when I turn it then goes to normal and when I try to charge it it turns red instead of orange and no it’s not because of a game, it does this in the menu and even when its turned on please help.
its normal for a ps4 to do that wile charging, try updating it.
I have the exact same issue. Whenever I charge it I can get orange but slowly it seems to move and the connection goes to a red colour slowly and also whatever colour it is it also blinks vividly constantly which indicates for me it’s not connecting 100%. I left it for 20 30 mins and then when I turned on it was a purple light and would go blue then just turn off. I’m thinking the charger port is screwed or the charger isn’t doing enough for it to even charge that much to the point it’s nearly completey drained the battery and it only has enough power to show the led bar as purple then turn off. That’s all I can figure out so far. If I can find anything else I will lyk
I think this mostly happens due to linking it to a non-ps4 Device, I got this when I disconnected my ps4 controller from my phone, it has no way to detect battery, so it just bugs out the light And wont connect

This happened to me too after I messed with the wire you connect to the light bar and battery
Open %#*@ controler tight central screw on board thats it!
My problem is kinda similar but my controller flashes different Color’s faster than human eye
I have the same problem and it may be due to a deffective battery you may have to get a new battery or contoller
