I’ve cleaned the lasers thinking it was a problem with them but a disc wont spin whatsoever. Blue light comes on and recognises the disc is in there but it tries to spin and just shakes a little then stops. I’ve checked everything I thought it could be and I can spin it with my finger and it spins fine but it just won’t do it itself. Any ideas? I’m lost.
If you can see the disc shake a little, I would suspect that the spindle motor has a bad spot or has failed. Try spinning the disk by hand when you see it shake. If that “fixes” the problem, then change the motor (if you can find one). Otherwise, replace the optics assembly that includes the motor. Dan
