Hello. I just got this ps3 60 gb system and it won’t play my dvds. The dvds do not show up in the list like the blu-rays do. It seems as thought the system won’t read dvds. Before I replace the Blu-ray drive I wanted to see how I can fix this without replacing. If I have to replace then is there a guide on how to do so and what parts I need?
Hi @dfinch2132 You had mentioned that you had tested with Blu Ray Disks and it works. If you had tested on DVD Movies and it does not load still, Most probably the dvd section lens has failed. I had an experience of a user whom Blu Ray Fails, but DVD works well.. You need to replace the lens mechanism. Before you order your replacement from ebay / aliexpress, etc, you need to confirm the laser part number, compare with the pictures on the seller page and yours.
