Chosen Solution
I’m officially at my wit’s end here. I have a customer who is a Veteran, and the only game he wants to play is Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS3. He brought in his PS3 because the game freezes almost every time at the LOADING screen when the bar gets all the way across. Here is a list of what we have attempted to repair this issue. Oh, and yes, he has been able to play this game before. HIS PS3 SLIM
- Disassembled and clean Laser LENS.
- Cleaned Disc.
- Repaired HDD.
- Backed up data, installed used 250GB HDD, installed PS3 Software 4.81, and restored data.
- Deleted update file to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and redownloaded.
- Deleted saved game data
- Used 2nd Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag disc. So, in an attempt to figure this out because I told him it’s either the disc or his system, he brought in another Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Disc for PS3 and a used PS3 Slim that he purchased at GameStop. Like I said, he REALLY likes this game. So… NEW PS3 SLIM (NEW to him)
- Transferred data using ethernet cable from OLD PS3 to NEW PS3.
- Formatted system and created new user.
- Kept system from hooking up to internet to download update.
- Updated game software with no saved game data or user account. PLEASE HELP! (Image of hair on ground after pulled out)
@pcsfortdodge you cannot properly diagnose the PS3 with just testing one game. You will have to convince your customer that you will need to get a couple of different games loaded to see if it is the system or the game.
