Chosen Solution
I’ve replaced my thermal paste since my console was loud, but after that it doesn’t work anymore. Beeps three times the instant I press the ON button, then the BD drive light flashes, and the console turns off 3 seconds later with another 3 beeps accompanying it. I’ve noticed while disassembling that one of the harddrive ribbons has it’s shielding off and looks damaged. What can I do? Can I use my console without the BD drive (I have CFW installed).
If the dust was also cleaned out was it vaccumed or compressed air being used? Sometimes the power supply can go bad if a vaccum cleaner was used on it. Otherwise the APU has developed bad solder joints / overheated which is more likely the case.
