I just replaced the battery using instructions on this site and everything seems to be working except the Light/Proximity Sensor (the thing that turns the screen off when you hold the phone up to your face). Before I try tearing it down again, has anyone had any luck fixing this? I tried running the Light Sensor test (##3424##) and it registered a constant 4070 Lux. Not sure what that means. I’m wondering if one of the little cables that went to the upper left of the camera didn’t get connected right.
if it is reading a constant lux other than 0, it usually means it is disconnected. i would start by reopening the device, and making sure every flex is connected properly. That being said, to an electronic device, disconnected, and not returning a signal are the same thing. a component the flex could very well have blown depending on ESD, shorts, or physical damage. There is also a potential that there is just an obstruction in the lens of the sensor. hope this helps
