I have this problem too, it’s a 13” MacBook Pro 2016 Touch Bar A1706 which is out of warranty and the service center say that the Sleep/Wake sensor on the logic board is gone and they need to replace the whole logic board (Just what apple does) // Somebody please help me

@adgrms - As it turns out the TB models have two sensors! One on each side

You’ll need two steel paperclips and two rare earth magnets. Using the paperclips you should be able to locate the magnets within the lid along the edge bezel area. Once you’ve ID’ed them you will want a slap strip of masking tape to mark the placement (don’t leave the paperclips on as they can damage your display in the next step) Fold down the lid so you can then transfer the locations onto the top of the uppercase. With the system on and working you should now be able to put the display into sleep mode by placing the magnets at these locations both need to be present. Did the display go out?
