Chosen Solution

Hi there. I have issues with the keyboard. While Im using a laptop the keyboard and touchpad stops working. The OS is working fine I can still use a mouse or use emergency shut down button (just holding power button for 10 sec). Later I restart my laptop and everything works fine again. The nearest service center didnt help and gave me back my laptop. Hope there is still some solution.

Hi, Sorry to hear you’re having problems with your keyboard. This particular problem can indeed be an inconvinience. Try these steps. Solution 1 On your search bar, type: Control Panel.Select Device ManagerOn the selection list, click on Keyboard. It should expand to the name of the keyboard you have on your computer. Double click on that.Click on the tab, Driver.Click on Update. Then click on “Search Automatically”If an update is available, it will download it for you.Restart your computer, and you should be good to go. Solution 2 On your search bar, type: Control Panel.Select Device ManagerOn the selection list, click on Keyboard. It should expand to the name of the keyboard you have on your computer. Double click on that.Click on the tab, Driver.Click on Uninstall Device.Restart your system. When you log back in, Windows should have recognized the keyboard and install it automatically again for you. You’re good to go. If for some reason these steps do not help, I’d recommend reaching out to Lenovo. You’ll only want to reset the whole computer on worse case scenario, but that too could be a solution. Hope these steps help. Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions. Alex H.

You will see a lot of answers about debugging a USB keyboard or updating drivers or …… But not of them are helpful or near to resolve the issue. I have the same problem after some updates. This occurs when you use the conservation mode Battery, it seems it affects the keyboard behavior, don’t know why! Once I stopped using this mode I didn’t face this issue anymore, but it is too bad because it reduces the battery life mode. As I debugged the updates, the bug comes when I get the Lenovo advantage program to control the battery mode after they merged it with the Lenovo app settings which were working smoothly with my device. Hope you will find my answer helpful.

Seems like you have some software issue with your keyboard. It may be related to the operating system windows too. Someone says to restart your laptop in safe mode is’ a good way to find the solution. Still having issues checking your windows update.
