Firstly, I would like to apologize that I’m not inquiring on the iPhone issues. Sir, I wanna ask regarding the power button of Galaxy S3. Why is it that sometimes when I press the power button, the power button will get stuck inside? Is this repairable? I already sent my phone to the Samsung service center twice, yet the result is still same. The power button will stick inside, especially when you press at the edge of the button instead of pressing it at its center point. Thanks for your precious information, iFixit.
The power button is made of a flexible plastic. I don’t think there is much you can do to fix it yourself. I would return it again and ask if they could fit a new button. Or, you can find one and replace it yourself. It’s very easy to replace, as it pushes out from inside quite easily.
They still need the power button to turn the screen off.
My power button probelm was due to the case. The coloured official case you can buy seperately was too tight and caused to button to become stuck if you pressed it on the lower half. In order to fix, I went back to my primal insticts and nawed the case edge near the power button. It’s dented there now, but not noticable and the power button works flawlessly now. Either that or get a new case.

I had the same problem and nearly sent it back to the manufacturers. However, had a bit of a ’light bulb’ moment, took off the moulded plastic case and the problem was solved! Now got a different case!

The power button on my Samsung galaxy s3 is located at the upper right side of the phone, and is super sensitive to the lightest touch. Because of this the phone is always shutting down by itself. The power button should have been placed on the TOP of the phone. Please suggest how I can fix this. Thanks
Ethier Go to ebay and purchase a new power button and follow a YouTube video on how to remove old and solder a new power button to the main board, take it to a reputable independent mobile phone repair shop or send to the manufacturer and pay well over the odds for the privilege.
