I have a Canon pixma mp160, I was scanning and coping right from the printer not from the computer. I turned it off and about an hour later I needed to scan and printer again from my printer. It sets up as always the when I push to scan and print it does an error code E22. When I try and use my computer to print from it gives me service error 5100. I can’t figure out what these error code mean. I have unplugged the cord and waited for an hour and plug it back in and once it sets up and sits there waiting to use the rollers start again then it goes to the error E22. What is the cause of the E22 error code? Thanks

I had the same error and it got fixed only by pushing the carriage back to its starting place when I got the error (there was a small distance) and turning off the printer. It seemed that it lost its coordinates.

Apparently, Error Code E22/5100 is an issue with the carriage movement. Something might have jammed it up. Check for any paper jams, and try out this guide to see if these steps help at all https://smartprintsupplies.com/blogs/new
