Chosen Solution
I have a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II. It has been in storage for about 5 years. I set it up and the amber and blue light flashes. The amber light only flashes once. When I open the cover the print head does not move to the center. It has print cartridges that were stored in it. I unplugged it and tried to manually move the print head but it will not budge. I have not hooked it up to my printer yet as I wanted to make sure everything was good to go first.
If the printer has been printing continuously for a long time, the Print Head Holder may not move to the center since the Print Head may overheat. Opening the Top Cover while printing moves the Print Head Holder to the right. Close the Top Cover, and reopen it after printing finishes. Regards, Will
