Chosen Solution
Sanyo DP26649 Powers up, sound comes on but takes about 15-20 minutes to show picture. Its been doing this for 5 years. Other than that it works great. Id like to keep it if it’s a simple fix. Can anyone lend any advice? Thank you in advance!
@kcstarr when the screen is dark and you are waiting for it to come on, shine a flashlight beam at an angle against it. See if you can make out shapes, silhouettes etc. If so you know that this is your backlight that is the issue. After that you will have to check the power board and the main board. Check for obviously damaged parts or loose connections. Post some pictures of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. For now this sounds like either colder solder joints, bad capacitors or bad power Mosfets. Adding images to an existing question
Hi @kcstarr , Here’s a image taken from the service manual showing the Sanyo Troubleshooting Guide (only for 2009 models) and for the DP26649 (except DP26649-03) model showing the Green Power LED is on but the LCD backlights are not on troubleshooting flowchart.
