Television will power up, there is a good signal, sound is okay, but picture quality is very poor. Picture is almost visible, but not able to actually see anything.
@chongo rom the brief description you are giving it sounds like a bad backlight. this is usually connected to a bad power supply board. You do want to give us your TV’s complete model number. Also, remove the back of the TV (after you unplug it) and take a look at the boards. Check for obvious damage like leaky, domed capacitors etc. Post some images with your question so we can see what you see, Use this guide for that.
