Hi, I have a A1502 that works fine on battery (since its have some juice left) but does not charge. I would inspect the DC-In board and the MagSafe connectors face. I often find the middle pin is dirty, the socket is loaded with junk, or the insulator plate melted so the connection is not firm. And lastly, the logic is corroded up.
