Power on for 1-2 hrs. then goes off! Reset on lasts 1/2 hr. then off?
The problem may be caused by overheating because of a broken/defective fan inside the device. This may be why it lasts longer (1-2 hours) when you power it on then when you reset it (30 minutes). It may last longer the first time around because it has been off for a longer time, giving it more time to cool off before you turn it on again. If there are any blinking lights on the device when it if shuts off, it may be blinking a code pattern. These “error codes” are configured by the manufacturer for troubleshooting purposes. Count how many times the light blinks, and Google the error code pattern along with the make/model of the device. There should be some entries explaining what is wrong.
