Hi guys, I recently broke the power flex on an iPhone 5s when trying to replace the housing. I bought a new one, and placed it in the new housing. Now, the volume buttons and mute work, but the power does not. What can be the reason behind this?
Some of the replacement buttons I’ve seen are slightly thicker than the original. One thing I’ve had to do before is use a tiny piece of paper or plastic to act as a spacer behind the bracket that swings in over the home button. This will sometimes keep the bracket from keeping the button depressed once you put the screw in. You can also back the screw out slightly to see if the extra clearance allows the button to operate normally. Assuming you’ve also tried using the button without it being installed fully into the housing and it still doesn’t work, I’d lean towards a faulty button flex, or damage at the connector on the logic board. Good luck!
