I just got a TV from a family member who said it went bad, it’s pretty nice so I figured I’d try to fix it instead of throwing it out. It’s a Samsung Model no. UN55HU8550F Power supply board: BN44-00742A Steps I took after initially receiving the TV: Turned it on to verify what was the problem, no power whatsoever, no indicators, no backlight, nothing.Opened up the back, saw a fuse next to the plug, took it off and tested continuity. Read as OL. Fuse is T63AH250VOrdered new fuse and fuse holder, tested new fuse to verify there was continuity, soldered in fuse holder and replaced fuse, plugged it in and still no indicators that power was on, tested fuse and read OL.Unplugged connectors to the other sections of the TV, plugged it in with new fuse, still blew and read OL.Started testing other components but still not 100% sure if there’s any other issue, nothing is visibly burnt, no expanding capacitors, no char on the board, etc.Tested the thermistor next to the power chord that reads WMEC WTR 15D050 30581, read continuity with 9 ohms, not sure of that was good or bad but it didn’t say open. If anyone has had this same issue or can suggest something I may have missed I’d be very grateful.
Hi @bighernandez190, Just verifying that you replaced the fuse with a T6.3A 250V fuse and not just a standard 6.3A 250V fuse? The “T" indicates that it is a slow blow fuse. This type of fuse is designed to hold when high inrush currents are present when the power is first connected whereas a standard fuse would blow immediately even though it may have the same rating Here’s a link that may help with checking the power board.
