Hi, I have not been able to find the information I need so far. I have an iPhone 5s on which I have replaced a broken screen. I’ve transfered working front facing camera, proximity sensor, earpiece speaker and Home Button from the broken display to the new one. I think I was very careful not to break anything during the replacement. After reassembly almost everything is working fine, all but the earpiece speaker, from which I can hear no sound at all. The speaker to me seems pretty foolproof, so I think there might be something wrong with the flex cable. Is that possible if both the front facing camera and proximity sensor work fine? Is there a separate cable for the earpiece which could be the problem? Thank you very much for any help with this!

Hi mate Sorry it might sound very silly but have you tried cleaning the lego connectors? It might be that some dust got there and it just doesn’t get the spark. Does the cable look battered? If so then I’d advise you to change the earpiece to a new one.

hello, id say that unless you had to pry out the flex cable, it shouldnt be damaged with a screen replacement. it is more likely that there was a mis connection when plugging your component back in. may be a pain, but i would retrace my assembly steps, unplug, look at the connectors for any force damage and reseat the connections. if this doesnt work however, then damage may have occured and then would look into a replacement assembly for the speaker.
