Most likely Thermal Expansion! Keep in mind the thinness of the system constrains the heat buildup within it. So some parts heat up faster than others causing tension to build up where the parts meet up. In the winter the effect is more dramatic! People who carry their systems into the cold and then power them up at once they get into their office/home seem to encounter it more. As to what part/s are shifting is still a guess.
