Had this happen on a few iPhone 8 and 8 plus models. After replacing the lightning flex callers report it sounds like I’m in a fish bowl or really far away. I didn’t replace the mic/speaker mesh as it appeared to be in good shape and I was pretty careful to make sure the mic was in the right position. The mic works but everyone complains that they can either barely hear me or that I sound like crap. Anyone else have this issue?
It sounds like the quality of the part is poor or the mic is not I. The correct position.
Had the same thing happen. Make sure that the protective covers are taken off the microphones before you install them
