Chosen Solution
I plugged in my charger to my Nextbook tablet. Red light came on but changed to orange within seconds. Tablet will not turn on at all and says 2% battery life. How do I fix this without taking it apart?
Based off of the information given, my best guess is that this is a battery issue. Especially if the device is a few years old. If that is the case, your only option is to open it up to replace the battery. There are a few trouble shooting steps you can take. First, try a different power brick and charging cord if you can. Second, see if you can perform a hard restart on the device.
