I have same problem as above, plugged a usb in to my laptop and just went dead no lights, but when I plug the power cable in the light is a blue circle. Update (08/30/2022) Is their a schematic for the 15 r2 — AAP21 LA-CI2P Rev: 2. 0 ( A01) 2015-10 - 01
Try removing batteries, pressing holding power button to drain power(more time you press the less likely you need to repeat procedure), re test with a good known power adapter. Check old power adapter to see if correct voltage is given, using voltage meter…. if nothing works reseat ram(use 1 module) ,repeat procedure. Or gpu or ram or bios or power problem(these are most likely culprit.)
