Hi,I was trying to replace my macbook screen, and striped 3 out of the12 1.1 mm P2 pentalobe screws shown at step 21 of this guideThe screws are really really small, I’m not sure what is the yellow metal for, will it affect the functionality of the macbook if there is a damage?I’ve tried to removing the striped screws using soldering iron and super glue but didn’t work. I’m thinking of buying rotary tool to grind the screw so it will fits for flat screw. Please help me if there is other suggestion that might work, thanks!
The part being held by these screws is the 13” MacBook Pro Rear Vent & Antenna Module, Apple P/N 923-01389 and here’s the screws 13” MacBook Pro Screw Set - Antenna (x12). Apple P/N 923-03288 So if you’ve damaged the antenna you may need to replace it. Getting the screws out can be tough! Apple uses a thread sealer so you likely need a solvent to soften the sealer and make sure you are using a good and proper driver bit as there are a few different ones that appear to fit but don’t bite properly.
