My screen got a crack in it. So I decided to replace it. When lifting the screen to get into the phone, instead of lifting ALL of it up, it is just lifting the display itself up… I don’t want to be on the inside of the screen, rather the inside of the phone. PLEASE HELP!!!
Okay Joseph, calm down, it’s okay. First off, usually the reason the LCD separates from its frame is that you neglected to take out the Pentalobe screws securing the frame to the case. You did take them out, right? If not, do that now, before anything else. Now, assuming you’ve got the LCD mostly off, you’ve got two choices. You can finish the job (you’re replacing it anyway, right?) then tackle the frame that’s still on the phone, or you can go back around the phone and make sure you’re under the frame this time and free it all up that way. This is what your phone will look like if you take the LCD off without the frame.
Versus the inside without the display frame.
You’re not the first to run into this; here’s another post from someone who had the exact same thing happen. SOLVED: Why does the inside of my iPhone x look different than everyone elses? - iPhone X - iFixit You’ll be fine once you have the frame and the LCD off; nothing you’re doing will damage the rest of the phone, only the old LCD that you’re replacing anyway. Let us know how it goes.
