Hi! My MacBook was cracked and chipped where you rest your right wrist when typing. Can I replace this part? thank you chris

Its a very common issue, Apple will replace this part for you free of charge as long as the machine is within its first 3 years.

Unfortunately, the way the MacBook is designed makes that area extremely vulnerable to cracking. The question is not if the upper case will crack, but rather when will the upper case crack? You can very easily replace this part. Depending on which model you have, you will need the Core Duo/Core 2 Duo, the Santa Rosa/Penryn, or the Early/Mid 2009 version. If you are unsure which version you have, check out the ID Your Mac feature to find your machine. Also, the repair guide (MacBook Core Duo Upper Case Replacement or MacBook Core 2 Duo Upper Case Replacement) takes you step-by-step through the process. I hope this helps!
