Hi! I recently bought a screen+case replacement for my galaxy s4 and swapped the circuits etc. to the new screen/case and ran into a problem. When I put the frame on the phone, the phone no longer works. It will make a buzz when I connect the battery, but nothing appears on the screen. If I take the frame off and start the phone then, it will work perfectly. Any clue what may be causing this?
Yes! You are grounding out the new display. When you take an LCD off of a frame on the galaxy S4 there is a silver foil insulator between the circuitry on the back of the LCD Assembly and the frame. Use Kapton tape to cover the circuit on the back of the new LCD and install it. Your problem should be resolved!
