I dropped my iphone while in a lifeproof case, and to my knowledge the phone was ok. I later found that the phone would not charge when plugged into a wall outlet, and was not recognized by my laptop. After opening the phone, there was noticeable damage to the battery (dented and cracked). With the battery removed and the phone plugged into my laptop, the apple logo would appear for a few seconds, go away, and continue this process. Does this indicate that only the battery was damaged, or could it still be possible that the dock connector and headphone jack would also need to be repaired? Thanks in advance, Joe
If the battery casing has been damaged, you should handle with care. Lithium-based batteries can spontaneously catch fire if the casing has been damaged. You may want to try an alternative battery - perhaps a used one initially to prove that it is the battery which is causing the problem.
The phone probably got broken ): if you saw any damage on the charging spot. Check inside of the charging area because yesterday I noticed a small piece of tissue that would sometimes prevent my phone from charging, and I had gotten it out with a small tootpick. The outlet, block thingy, or the cord could be the problem, if you haven’t, try using another outlet, block thingy, or cord and see if it works. If none work, than your iPhone is probably broken and you might have to get it repaired somewhere but on this very website, there are ways showing you how to repair any iPhone by yourself, noy going anywhre. They have all the iPhone reapairs up to iPhone5C, the newest one. so, good luck, i hope your iPhone gets fixed.
