I have a damaged logic board and my phone won’t charge using the sync/charging cable. I know it’s most likely due to damage to one or both of the chips that control USB charging. It’s not recognized bu iTunes either. I just get a USB device not recognized error when I plug it into my PC which further confirms my suspicions. The phone does charge if it’s plugged in while off though, so i’m guessing the charging coil is still ok. Anyway, since I can’t use a cable, would I be able to charge my phone wirelessly somehow as long as the coil is still good? I’ve seen special cases you can buy that do that kind of thing. Would they work, or do they rely on the USB charging circuit in some way as well?
The iPhone does not offer wireless charging (from the start thru to the current iPhone 6). There was a device you could plug in via the port connecter to make your phone charge wirelessly but as you have a damaged port that won’t work either.
