The apple logo will come on and occaisionally blink but the phone wont fully boot. I managed to get it to turn on and I unlocked my phone but it went back to the battery screen that comes on when your phone is dead. I plugged it in and put it in restore mode but I cant backup my files. I don’t mind replacing the phone as long as there’s a way to get the files from it.
try replacing the battery (hope its charged enough), if it stays on complete a back up. there are many variables. try a new charge cord, or charging block try a ipad charging block with the charger and see if it charges. try a new battery or charge port if you have a usb ampmeter connected to the charging cable and phone you can see if the phone is taking charge. eliminate the easy stuff, you can disconnect the charge port and battery connectors and connect the new ones and see if the phone starts to charge. hope this helps.
