hello, i have an old flagship phone, the samsung a9 pro 2016 and it was water damaged a few months after getting it and wouldnt turn on. Moving forward a few years the phone gets to me i let it charge overnight and to my surprise it turns on.Every function works perfectly the phone functions but it won t let me use it as a phone, it just displays emergency calls only .It is also worth mentioning that the phone was made for china and it has no playstore, just some chinese mombo-jumbo. Could the water damage just the component responsible for calling and receiving calls? Thank you for your time
If your phone recognizes the sim card but doesn’t make or receive calls your phone may have been set to airplane/flight mode. You can simply go to settings and toggle this option off. If that isn’t the case you can check your sim card settings if the sim is selected as your primary sim card. Otherwise, you may need to call your network provider/ ISP.
