Hello, I just finished replacing the screen of my iphone from my friend’s permanently locked iphone. Just transferred the display assembly from hers to mine (while transferring the old home button) without adhesive. Somehow it quickly overheats near the top of the iphone after some normal use and it keeps saying that it doesn’t recognize the accessory (charger) I am using. It quickly cools down once I separate the display assembly from the rear case and it shows that it is charging. I am thinking there is something that is making contact that shouldn’t but I have no idea what. It does not charge anymore if I press the case and screen together…..and it gets warm again.

If it’s the top of the screen it is usually a torn front camera ribbon cable. The front camera can be taken from a spare screen if needed. iPhone 6s Front-Facing Camera and Sensor Assembly Replacement For the accessory not supported it could be charging chip going bad in the phone or the charger port going bad. Have you already tried another charging cable and wall charger just in case?
