Before you say it, my phone is not stuck in headphone mode. The volume overlay clearly shows when the headphone volume is being effected vs. the ringer/speaker volume. I also tried a myriad of things to get it resolved from suggestions on the Internet. Without any success, I swapped out the Lightning Connector Assembly and didn’t run into any problems thanks to the resources on this site (Thank You!). Even with the new assembly, neither the earpiece nor the headphone jack work. The lightning port works fine as well as the loud speaker. So, nothing’s changed. I checked every connection over several times. Everything clicked in with a snap. Can’t find anything wrong. All the connectors look clean, no pins bent. So, I’m guessing it’s the Logic Board. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? Much appreciated!! Rick

Under your earpiece should be a piece of black tape that covers up some gold contacts for an antenna. I believe it’s the wifi antenna. I had an issue with a customer where the black tape was missing which caused it to ground out. As far as the headphone jack goes, I know it’s strange that you are having the exact same issue, but I’d try one more head phone jack/lightning cable assembly. This time connect it externally by just connecting the cable to the motherboard. Put a piece of paper under it so it doesnt ground out on the case or any other metal and see if that helps. If it does work, then the assembly is grounding out within the case when installed somewhere.
