Chosen Solution
My phone is rooted and runs the latest crDroid The problems are: -Phone only charges when off, but I once it starts charging it will continue after booting -Both volume buttons turn on the screen Both problems appeared simultaneously out of nowhere. The same thing happened once already. I fixed the second issue by wiping and reinstalling the ROM. For the charging issue I found a weird solution: turning the device on with the volume down button pressed and with a strong light shining over the front camera/brightness sensor. I wasn’t expecting anything, but it worked for about one week, until both problems surfaced again. Sometimes in my previous install something called Car Mode would turn on by itself, and I believe it’s somehow related to both these issues. Any ideas? I tried different chargers, cables and cleaning the usb port.
look in the charging port to see if it is dirty. you may also need to replace the charging port.
