A small white plastic piece has fallen off in back. White piece has small crack that seems repairable. I can’t see where it fits back on. Keep getting “No Paper Feed” message since the paper isn’t getting picked up by the rollers. The printer is trying to feed the paper and when it quits the top page has significant roller marks on it.
This could be caused by any of the below mentioned things: Paper pull-in roller holder Base pad in the paper tray Jam clear cover PF-related gears Main PCB Paper feed motor Problem here is that we do not know what part broke and fell out. Amazingly enough I found the service manual for the device and you can download it here I do hope that this will help you out. Good Luck to you and your printer and let us know how it is going.
Have same problem with autofeeder in MFC 420 CN. Cannot access oldturkeys03’s doscument. Need access from oldturkey03 on his site. Thanks oldturkey03.
Your link does not appear to be working for a service manual. Could you repost for the same problem- a small H shaped white piece fell out when reloading the paper tray. Can not tell where it came from and would like to see a diagram of where it should go in case need to replace completely. Thank you. Brother- MFC-240 all in one printer.
Yeah, I would really love it if that link would work. Thanks for the suggestion. Just as a guess but the little white peice that fell out may just be a little roller in the back that helps the paper feed more smotthly. If you take out the paper jam cover ther should be a twin roller and if there is only one than it most likely came from there. It just snaps back in. Hope this helps if you haven’t figured it out yet.
I’m looking for a replacement paper tray for a MFC 240C printer it only has the one tray, but all I have found is replacement trays that look different and cost nearly as much as a new multi function machine, I saw a new printer in K-Mart for 99.99 today , why are the replacement parts more than a new machine?

That little white piece is called the Paper Pick-Up shoe, and apparently it is a ongoing problem with the MFC 240c printer. The MFC 240c is a great printer, really, but after time that little piece wears out and I am currently trying to find a way to replace it without having to discard the whole machine?
