I was trying to open the broken screw, the screwdriver slipped off my hand, knocked off the ribbon cable and some SMD components as well. I’m panic as !&&*. It was a HP Pavilion dk0231tx. Now there is no SATA on my laptop.HELP!! There are 7 SMD components knocked off, including the ribbon connector, especially the ribbon connector with its pads ripped off.
Wow - must have been a forceful drop/slip! In that case I suggest using a large mobile external drive (SSD would be a good choice). Trying to repair a motherboard with that amount of damage, unless you are an expert electronics technician with expensive tools and time on your hands, is probably a waste of time.
Crizi first ask yourself a couple of questions. Do you have the tools (or access) and skills required to solder SMD components? If so then post some good picture of just the damaged area. It is repairable and not as daunting as it may appear. All of it depends on your tools and your skills. You will of course need a connector that is undamaged to solder back on. Second, you may need the schematic to determine the SMD components that have come off as well. For that you will need to give us the complete numbers that are printed on the circuit board so we can see if there are schematics around to assist you with that.
