Hi, My Panasonic TX-P50VT30E has the famous 7 blinking lights issue. How can I troubleshoot it and know which card to replace?

Thanks Nicolas

@newbieintv The 7 blink code is a common issue with is with one, both, or all of SC board, SD board, and SU board. The most common failure is the SC board. after that it’s possibly an SU/SD board fault; possibly a loose board connector, or a mis-seated connector leading to the panel. First check for arcing evidence on the mounting screws for the SD board. Then do a preliminary check based on this

You also want to post lots of images of your boards and their location with your question. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that. That way we are having a common reference for further issues.

Sounds to me like you may have an issue with the control board. What you can do to troubleshoot is:

  1. unplug television from power and unplug power cord from television (if removeable)
  2. open the television 3)look for the control board (usually the board with all the ports and antenna connection) 4)disconnect the control board from the power supply board and all other connectors 5)plug the power cord into television and plug television into outlet WARNING! DO NOT TOUCH ANY COMPONENTS INSIDE TV WHILE POWERED ON OR PLUGGED IN! POSSIBLILTY OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. 6)turn on television to check if the blinking lights still occur If after the tv is still blinking then it might be an LCD issue.

This is an old TV. I would imagine this TV is plasma. You would need to replace three boards minimum to repair this. By now, there would be no parts for this set. Then at its best, you may get 3 months to watch . Time to find a new set. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV.

Hello Everyone, I have a Panasonic TX-P50VT30E that had the 7 red blinking error. We have replaced the SC board (TNPA5335 BG) and after that there is no error code but the picture/screen is blue and blurry. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
