I bought a new logic board for my iPhone 7 thinking that it was going to work with the old touch id but it is didn’t pair. Is there any way I can pair the old id with new logic board
The home button is paired with the logic board at the factory for touch ID. From experience and what I’ve read, I believe there is no way outside of the factory to pair a home button and logic board. Replacement of the home button or logic board will result in a loss of touch ID functionality. I’ve heard a select few Apple stores will do the pairing, but I’m almost certain you would have to go through them for the parts.
