Chosen Solution I completed this repair with relative ease. The glass completely shattered on me while using the suction cup. I was able to change out the digitizer for a new one, however, the iPad now just locks out and goes blank and the locking button no longer works. This is after 1 day of full functionality. Chosen Solution I recently replaced the LCD on a 5S and seperated the prox sensor solder from the rest of it. I replaced the entire cable and grounded under the tape to the LCD shield. The earpiece speaker works but not the prox. I didn’t have the passcode so I couldn’t test the front facing camera. Any idea as to why the prox doesn’t work? Did you make sure that the spacer for the proximity sensor is in place?...

I first have to disconnect and connect the power cord, then the blue light and beep sounds is coming again. Chosen Solution my laptop is working but no backligt ,If connected the adapter backlight work fine,remove the adapter backlight off and laptop working Go to Control Panel –> Power (you may need to change the view control panel icons by large or small icons or large icons to see the Power one.) Check your plan settings. There are different settings for your computer when its plugged in vs on battery.

I need to know what else could be the problem for this catastrophe. mattaposey, this can be caused by a bad digitizer connector. As you can see the connector lacks metal ends and this is what makes it a weak connector. It is easily possible to damage the connector by mis-aligning the digitizer connector like this. Check the ends of the connector....

Chosen Solution So I took out my backplate to put on a replacement. The replacement didnt come with the sticker grilles and 2 sponges in the corner. I took the grilles and put them onto the new one, but the 2 square sponges I couldn’t transfer. Does anyone know their purpose? The two sponges are to absorb the vibration from the speakers. LED 1 lights up when the computer is off after I press the power button LED 2 lights up too and fans start to spin at full speed. A lot of the time, a sudden boot device error means the hard drive has failed, especially on an older system like this. Listen to the area where the hard drive lives - see if you hear it go click, click, click continuously or if it is grinding (should be on the right side of the palmrest near the trackpad) - if so, bad drive; no diagnostic SW needed....

If so remove it from the case and check if you can be heard OK when using the phone on a call. The case may be blocking the microphone’s voice inlet hole found on the bottom edge of the phone....
