Chosen Solution I have a 2017 13” function keys MacBook Pro and the keyboard is giving me a hard time. Some of the keys on the right side are sticky, the backlight doesn’t work at all and the caps lock light indicator doesn’t light up either. Could this be because of the keyboard cable, a motherboard problem or could it be the actual keyboard? I called Apple and they said they could address the sticky keys since they have a program for it but, this wouldn’t address the keyboard backlight and that the computer is out of warranty....

Now, in a darkened room turn the TV to a station where you have audio. Shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make things out like silhouettes, menus etc. If so, then you know it is your backlight (bad power board, bad backlight array)....
