The first problem with my appliance was that it stopped heating altogether. On inspection I found that the heating coil had a break in it. After replacing that, everything is back to normal with the lone exception that the “Timed Dry” selection tumbles with no heat. Normal, Jeans, Casual, etc. etc. all dry as normal, but Timed Dry leaves clothes as wet as they went in. What could be causing just this one option to not get heat?

Hi @therobinc Yes the ifixit iRobot is sometimes too aggressive with long string of numbers. It thinks that it is spam phone numbers or something. I will advise the website’s admin and hopefully they can tweak it a bit more. In the interim I will restore your lost rep. points. ;-) With regard to the dryer problem, I can only think that it is a control panel problem or perhaps a loose harness connector on the control panel. Was Timed Dry working OK before the heater problem or don’t you know? Without a schematic it will be hard to isolate if it is not obvious. Here’s a link that may help with that. I don’t know if it has the schematic but usually service manuals do. Given the cost of the control panel - part #4B “Top and Console parts” it may be worthwhile to get it. Moderator
