Hi everyone! Since some time my MacBook M1 Pro 14’’ does only charge when it is completely turned off. Also it charges at a really slow rate (taking up to 14 hours to fully charge). Next to that, the charger is recognised by the MacBook (making a sound) but does not show any light on the charger itself. What should I do? I can’t use the MacBook properly now, as I have to turned it off and wait for a long time to charge it. Update (12/05/2022) Hi @danj, thank you for the quick reply. I downloaded the app and got the following results:
I have brought the MacBook two times to the Apple Store so far. The first time the MacBook was repaired (only a software reset I believe) and everything worked fine again. The second time, three months later, they couldn’t fix the issue under guarantee. It would cost me over $1500 in order to fix the MacBook due to liquid damage. Right now, I am using the MacBook as normal, only the charging part is causing some issues (as described above). I am using the original MacBook charging cable.
Not good 😭 This such a new system I don’t think anyone has offered replacement batteries. Besides I think there is more than a battery issue here. The charging logic within the main logic board is also having issues from the liquid damage. At this point if Apple is your only option for repair as much as it hurts. Your other option is getting a replacement system. You might find a used system or Apple refurbished system for about the same amount. In any case you may want to get the AppleCare+ service contract if you think it might happen again.
