Our Sony HCD-CP100 has been working well for years, with an intermittent fault affecting one speaker, which just tidying up the wire connection has fixed usually. Today however, it’s stopped working (mostly, there are tiny vibrations coming through the speaker still). When swapping around the speakers, it impacts the other speaker, so I’m guessing this means the speaker connection from the main unit is faulty. Anyone got any tips on fixing this?
Hi @jpraja , Here’s the service manual for the system. This will help you to dis-assemble it to gain access to the rear of the speaker terminals to check if it is a loose or dry joint solder connection on the connector terminal. Perhaps this is all that it may be. If the connector terminal appears to be OK the manual has schematics that will help you to trace the faulty audio output circuit back from the speaker terminal further into the circuit to find out where the problem is on the circuit board.
