I was going to pop the key but didn’t and know that after I tried it is loose what should I do?
It seems like you partially disengaged the key. Try forcing the key back into place by pushing it directly down carefully but firmly, you should hear a click when it goes back into place. If that doesn’t work, using a thin sharp tool, carefully position it underneath the key and unhook the two latches that attach it to the top case. Then, you will be able to pull the key off. Remove the key mechanism and reseat it onto the top case. Then, push the key back on to the top case.
