Can’t find Onn brand in drop down so I place thus in tcl forum my apologies. Hi I purchased an onn 50 inch 4k tv model number ONA50UB19E05 in Jan of 2021 from walmart. Opted out of the warrenty stupid of me now the tv is failing. First the tv started flickering a black lines cutting in and Until one day it just did not turn on. The standby light was on but no response from the tv. I proceed to troobleshoot. Unplug everything from the unit. Left it alone for a day or two. I tried to see if it would work and it did not. So I decide upon myself to open the tv up and see what could be wrong. I removed and replaced the mainboard with a brand new board. To my success the tv turned on but a new issue arose from this the screen is blank. I checked all the connections on the main board the tcon cables, front panel , speakers and power are all fine Could this be a failed tcon board? Can this cause the backlight to not light up? Are the led’s in my t.v. at fault? Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive only had this tv a few month’s with minimal usage plug to a surge protector and mounted securely my wall.
Hi, The Walmart warranty may just have been the retailer’s warranty which is sometimes supplied at extra cost and doesn’t replace the manufacturer’s warranty. Here’s a user manual for an ONN brand TV (model number not specified). On p.28 it states that the warranty is 1 year. Check the user manual that came with your TV as to what the warranty is and also if it states how to make a claim for a manufacturer’s warranty repair or replacement. If there is no information in the manual or one wasn’t supplied, contact ONN and ask them. Normally to obtain warranty service, proof of purchase is required
