Have an old Seagate 30gb (Compaq spare part # 319413-001) with childhood photos. Any USB/converters that can be used to access drive?

Hi @drphred, As far as I know this uses the old ATA-100 interface (aka IDE), and is in a 2.5" form factor. Your best option is to get a USB 3.0 to IDE / SATA converter. There are devices that support both 2.5" and 3.5" form factors, in the same device. Once you have acquired the converter, you simply connect the drive to the converter, then plug the USB cable into a computer. This will show up as an external drive. I mostly work with SATA / USB 3.0, but I do also have an older IDE / USB 3.0 converter (somewhere).

You need either a 3.5" drive case which has its own power supply if its a SATA drive or you can use this [linked product missing or disabled: IF107-108-2] if its a IDE/PATA or SATA drive Once connected you’ll need to then connect to a system which can access the files.
