I was replacing the 72 pin connector on my front loader NES and I decided to clean the motherboard connection. (I had already put the connector on but games were still having an issue.) A couple of the brass leads came off. How do you go about replacing edge connector leads? And incase you lost one (let’s just say I lost one), where to get a replacement piece. Yes I could send it away to a service. I would like to know how to do it. Thanks in advance! Update (03/16/2017) After seeing the board I realize I was trying something else. I think I was trying to add metal to the contacts, but my iron was too hot. Is there lead tape? Here is the connector ( I forgot you could add photos).
May I suggest just getting a remake? https://www.amazon.com/NES-Retro-Enterta…
Okay so it is possible to repair this, but it’s extremely technical and requires a lot of specialized tools and supplies. Definitely only worth it if the process and expense sounds like something you would attempt for fun. In this video, RetroGameModz performs a similar repair on a different board. https://youtu.be/vx50YtEC2S8 Looks like you’re gonna need a new motherboard.
