HELP! Just did the full battery replacement sequence and got 2 start up chimes when i plugged it in and then nothing. I took the back off again and had a really good look to make sure everything was plugged in properly . Still nothing. Put back together and let it charge for a while. Still nothing . It’s warm to touch at the center rear, but the battery area isn’t warm. The charger is showing green, suggesting battery is charged. Took the back off again and unplugged battery and keyboard and replugged. Plugged back into the power with back off and the fans came on for about a min before turning off. So not sure where to go from here. I replaced the battery because it was going flat too soon and i was getting a replace battery soon message. No other issues. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers Tim
This might be hard to swallow. I think you fried your logic board, repair can be expensive and annoying for that, sometimes its better to just get a new computer. You could do a reset by removing both battery and charging cable then press the power button for 60 seconds but if that doesnt work the repair will probablly cost you $700 at best. (Disclaimer: It is not garunteed that it IS a logic board failure, its just an assumption based on what you have told me.)
Ok so an update. I connected an external monitor and have everything working except the screen. Still could be the logic board though as I have made sure the plug is ok and cleaned it with a cotton bud and contact cleaner. Just no screen!
Now you can check that whether you have an error with your logic board or the display may be running faulty. if still you are able to get visual on the external video devices. You can try after connecting to external display checking preferences that mirror is turned on if yes and still nothing on mac display then the logic board or display may be faulty
UPDATE Ok problem was a blown fuse. Computer was working but no screen. I cant solder that small so had a computer repair place in Ryde Sydney NSW fix it to the ripoff tune of $450 and cash would be best. Not impressed with that. So next time id do everthing to eliminate the chance of blowing the fuse when plugging back in.
