Got an S4 here and it is not blocked. IMEI is checked and is on O2. With a sim card in it has no service (recognises sim and loads voice mail) and just says not registered on network. things i’ve done
- factory reset / cache wipe etc
- messed around in network settings
- flashed a different ROM through Odin i am thinking it maybe hardware or antenna or something? i am not sure as it gets full wifi signal. any ideas
My Galaxy S4 was just working now it shows an error message “not registered on network” when i check IMIE number by *#06# it shows the different IMIE number as the one at the back of the phone please help
2 things come to mind assuming the phone has never been opened: Lost IMEI, bad SIM reader. S4s are known for both issues. The lost IMEI is a software issue and the SIM reader is hardware. The SIM reader can usually be fixed with a simple solder reflow. Its as basic of a solder job as you can get. The lost IMEI is a bit more complicated, so here is a link to the guys who know their stuff talking about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthre… My guess is since you are a rooter (I spent years in that world…no disrespect), you managed to lose your IMEI. With Samsung phones, its only a matter of time before this happens if you root. I had it happen once back in the S2 days and I freaked out. Turns out it wasn’t that hard to fix. Check out the XDA thread and give us an update.
