Please l gifted sony amplified fm stereo am receiver not knowing that was 120volts l plugged it into 220volts so it blow. Who to repair. Thank you

Was there any magic smoke? Did you hear/see something crackle inside when you plugged it in? Was there a bad smell? If you’re daring enough, unplug the machine (If you haven’t already!) and pop it open. Take visual of the boards: if there’s anything that’s burnt or smells bad, or something out of place, something most likely failed. Locate the power board. Usually the external AC cable plugs into this, and there’s probably a giant transformer on the board. Somewhere on there should be (hopefully) a fuse plug, and a fuse that is blown. Pop that bad boy out, take it to the hardware store, and find a 120V replacement. After that, find a 220 to 110 V converter, plug the fuse in, and see if the machine works. Good luck, dear.
